This policy covers brightburrowkids.com. It is separate from our Notice of Privacy Practices, which covers your child’s protected health information and is the document required under HIPAA.
What this website collects
This site is a set of static pages. It does not set cookies, it does not run analytics, it does not load third-party trackers, advertising pixels, session recording, or social media widgets, and it does not have a login.
The games and the brush tracker in the Kids’ Burrow run entirely in your browser. They keep a few settings on your own device, such as whether a game’s sound is on and the brush tracker’s gems for the day, and they never send them to us or to anyone else.
If you visit this site and do nothing else, we learn nothing about you beyond the standard server request log kept by our hosting provider, which records IP address, request time, and user agent. Those logs are retained for 30 days and are not linked to any patient record.
What you send us on purpose
The appointment request form. Collects the information you type into it: your name, phone number, email address, your child’s first name and age, and whatever you write in the message box. It is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our practice management system and is used to contact you about scheduling. Nothing from that form is shared with anyone outside the practice or used for marketing.
Please do not describe your child’s medical or dental condition in detail on the form. A web form is a reasonable way to ask for an appointment and a poor way to send health information. Call us instead.
Email. If you email hello@brightburrowkids.com, we have your email. Standard email is not encrypted end to end, so treat it accordingly.
Children’s privacy
This site is written for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect any information from children, and there is nothing on this site designed to be submitted by a child.
Third parties
Our website is hosted by a static hosting provider that processes server request logs on our behalf. Our appointment requests flow into our practice management system, which operates under a HIPAA business associate agreement with us.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any information to anyone, and we do not run advertising on this site.
Your choices
You can browse this site without giving us anything. You can call rather than use the form. You can ask us to delete an appointment request that did not become an appointment by emailing hello@brightburrowkids.com.
Information that has become part of your child’s dental record is governed by the Notice of Privacy Practices and by Ohio dental record retention requirements rather than by this policy.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page for at least 60 days.
