Two fillings with the laughing gas. She was chatting the whole time and asked on the way out if we could come back tomorrow. I want to be clear that I was the nervous one, not her, and the assistant noticed and quietly explained everything to me as it happened.
The care is genuinely good and both dentists are great with our boys. My one complaint is the Thursday after-school block. We have had that slot four times and three of those we waited past twenty minutes, once closer to forty, which with a hungry seven-year-old is a long time. Everything else about this office is excellent, and the front desk always apologizes, but I would rather they just book fewer people.
My daughter is three and had been to another office where it did not go well at all. Dr. Julia handed her a giant plastic molar and just let her hold it. Sat there and answered questions about it for probably five minutes before anything else happened. By the time the exam started my kid was fine. I did not know an appointment could go like that.
Our son took a soccer ball to the face on a Sunday and knocked out a front tooth. I called the after-hours number expecting a machine and Dr. Julia picked up. She talked me through putting it in milk and met us at the office within the hour. The tooth survived.
Our son is autistic and had never made it through a full dental exam anywhere. They booked us the first slot of the day, turned the music off before we walked in, and let him sit in the chair for two visits without doing anything at all. Third visit he had a cleaning. Nobody rushed him and nobody made me feel like we were an inconvenience.
Rosa at the front desk fought a claim denial for four months and won. Nobody asked her to do that.
Fourteen-year-old. Stopped wearing his retainer. Would not discuss it with us. Dr. Marco got it out of him in about ninety seconds and had him back in it that week. I do not know how.
Dr. Delgado saw our two-week-old for a tongue tie evaluation and told us he did not think a release was necessary yet, that our latch problem looked positional, and to see our lactation consultant first. He could have just done the procedure. We went back three weeks later and did end up needing it, but I trusted him completely by then.
